We did the August draw at Chorley Golf Club at the Council's day out. There were about 30 members present and of course we had a full compliment of dignitaries, We took the barrell with us in the bus and the Captain, President and Lady Captain all joined in the draw.
Mr President rolled the barrell and pulled out the first number. This was 167 and the lucky winner of £630 John Stubbs was with us.
The Captain brought the second number out. This was 132 and the recipient of £168 was Tony Nabarro. .
Lady Captain stepped up to pick out the third prizewinning number. Number 6 belongs to Maureen Brandwood who won £42.
Don't forget we are happy to hear about suggestions for projects to spend our money on.

July Draw
Due to holidays being booked the July draw needed to be moved. What better night to do it on than when Mr President was presenting his prize to the Ladies just one day before the draw should have taken place. After all the Ladies have a very good record in supporting and winning at 200 club draws.
After the President had done his stuff and told the Ladies a few jokes we asked him to pull out the first number. We said it would be nice if it was a lady and even better if she was present.
Mr President really did a good job as he picked a pair of winners! Sada Kilby and Carolyn Stockwell share number 162 and they won a cool £638 between them. They were both in the room and could thank the President profusely!

Lady Captain picked the second number out. This was 43 and Gorden Fryers won £170.
As Bridget Elmore had won the Presidents Prize that evening she was asked to do the honours for third prize. Number 55 came out and John Maloney won £42.
We are still waiting for more suggestions as to how some of our money should be spent.
The next draw will take place on Friday August 31st.

June Draw
This month we had the pleasure of doing the draw during the Captain's BBQ, which meant we had a captive audience of 140 people!
Among us on the night were honoured guests from Sale Golf Club Australia, John and Rita Wake. They were asked to pick the first number out.
This was the six monthly "Bonus" draw and the lucky number was 113. To our delight the recipient of an incredible £820 was there in the marque. It was Karen McBride who along with husband Peter are regular attendees at our draws.
Mr Captain stepped up to the mark to pick the normal 1st prize which was for £627. The number that came out was 46 belonging to Paul Lilley. Unfortunately Paul was not present on the night but was suitably delighted when he was told the news.
Next it was Lady Captain's turn to make someone happy! She picked out number 87 and there was a cry from the back! Chris Harris knew this was her number and she was delighted to win £167.
Last but certainly not least Mr President took his turn!
He picked number 122 which has been a lucky number a few months ago. It belongs to June Cutler and she won £42.
A great night was had by all especially the three winners who were present.

May draw
The May draw took place just prior to the mens Presentation. This meant we had a good turnout and of course the captain was in attendance.
The Captain Peter pulled out all the numbers at this draw. The first one out was 23 which belongs to Les Price. He was the lucky winner of £623 and happened to be in the queue for the on-line booking at the time! We dragged him away and Mr Captain presented him with his cheque. I think he was quite happy!!
The second number to be pulled out was 8. This one belongs to John Long and he will receive a cheque for £166.
Third out was number 172. This number has never come out before even though its owner is one of our most regular followers! It belongs to Pat Hill and she won £41. As it happens she was not present at this draw so a phone call had to be made. She is thinking she may be luckier if she stays away, but she is always a welcome addition to the evening so we hope she keeps coming!
We hope that the next draw will take place at the Captains BBQ on June 30th, watch this space!

March Draw
The draw took place at the Mixed League dinner on Saturday 31st March. This meant that we had an excellent turnout including the Captain, Lady Captain and the President.
We were thinking how nice it would be if the winner was present at the dinner.
The 1st number drawn out by the Captain was 187, and no, he was not present. It belongs to Ian Jordan who has won once before. He will receive a cheque for £619.
Lady Captain drew the second number out, it was number 1 and belongs to Claire Long. She was not there either. She gets a cheque for £165.
Then it came to the third prize. Mr President kindly drew out number 190. When it was announced who this belonged to ther was a scream of delight! It was Kevin Alston's number. You would have thought he had won the big one!! Alas it was only a cheque for £41.
We were delighted as kevin is a regular supporter of the 200 club and had never won anything before!

Don't forget to pass on any ideas you may have for spending the money we have in the bank.

December Draw
Our December draw took place as usual at the New Years Eve party, and what a party atmosphere there was! It is also the occasion for the 2nd "Big Draw" of the year.
There had been a session of "Simply Red" songs and then the wonderful buffet which Rick had prepared for us.
After everyone had had their fill we managed to extricate the Captain, Lady Captain and the President to pull out the lucky numbers for us.
The Captain was asked to pick the big one and out came number 56. This belongs to Joe Holten who now lives in Ireland but just happened to be over for New Years Eve. Well worth the trip I think, and it was said that he could help the Irish debt crisis with his £860!
We were delighted that we had the winner present so Mr Captain could present him with his cheque.

Then we carried on with the usual monthly draw. Mr President pulled out the first prize number 166 which belongs to Simon Poucher and he will be the lucky recipient of £649.
Lady Captain did the honours next and pulled number 82 out of the box. Howard Stockwell was the lucky owner and will pick up a cheque for £173.
Lastly the third monthly prize was picked by an elf helper! She pulled 199 out and to our delight the owner of this number was also present. It was Peter Broadbent who won £43. I think there was an extra round of drinks bought!
So an enjoyable end to another very successful 200 club year.
A big thank you to all the members of the 200 club and look forward to seeing more improvements around the club next year courtesy of you input.
Don't forget that January is the time for those who pay by cash or cheque to do so. It needs to be done before January 20th so that you are in next months draw which will be on Friday January 27th 2012.
Happy New year to all and hope your number is picked during the coming year!
